DESIGNA Australia extends its strength in the ports sector in Australia and gains momentum in its strategy to become Australia’s leading parking technology provider, leveraging off its unparalleled service offering.
DESIGNA Australia are proud to participate in the expansion and re-development strategies of our newly onboarded partners at Emerald Airport & Brisbane International Cruise Terminal. DESIGNA’s track record, product portfolio and service offering resulted in our successful inclusion in arguably two of the most prestigious projects of 2020.
“Given the tough conditions surrounding the current pandemic and the challenges it poses, not only winning projects of this nature, but successfully implementing them, is a testament to the quality of the DESIGNA Australia team and their experience” says Sheldon James (CEO-DESIGNA Asia Pacific region).
Brisbane International Cruise Terminal:
The brand new facility has been designed to cater for the world’s biggest cruise ships and give passengers a world-class experience. It will become a vital pillar of Brisbane’s and Queensland’s tourism economy, providing a gateway to the richness of the region and a showcase of all that south-east Queensland has to offer.
It will also deliver a major, long-term economic and tourism boost. Within 20 years, it will potentially triple Brisbane’s cruise industry to:
- support 3,750 jobs
- bring over 760,000 visitors annually
- contribute $1.3 billion in net expenditure into the Brisbane economy
DESIGNA Australia are in the process of commissioning a fully integrated parking management system, designed by CK Consultants and managed by Wilson Parking, including a bespoke pay on-exit coin accepting pay station for commercial vehicles.
With payment options such as cash, contactless RFID credited season parkers as well as Wilson WONE card, DESIGNA Australia have ensured a seamless experience for all types of users within the BICT parking environment.
Emerald Airport Car Park Technology Upgrade:
Emerald Airport (Central Highlands Council) are investing in multiple upgrade projects. This includes the recent venture to deliver a world class parking experience to its customers, expand their existing parking capacity and streamline parking layouts. They have diligently sought out cutting edge technology and a business partner- with a clear focus on long term and sustainable service offering. DESIGNA Australia had the credentials to match their requirements and are in the process of commissioning phase 1 of their current parking system replacement followed by a second phase with the deployment of a reconfigured short term and rental car parking facility, creating more capacity in the existing casual areas. License plate recognition technology will be used in the casual and contract-based parking areas, to ensure efficiencies and revenue optimisation.
Designa, the IoT and Machine Learning
Integrating new and emerging technologies has been a driver in the Designa product development for over 50 years.
Designa offered cloud-based solutions even before the cloud was coined the cloud. As the next step in this evolution, the Internet-of-Things (IoT) as well as approaches using Artificial Intelligence, e.g. Machine Learning, have become part of our NEXT Carpark Management System. While you may not see them on the outside, they are always there making sure the integration of parking into existing management systems will be a smooth one.
“Artificial Intelligence enables us to provide a fully automated, contactless parking system, which has become even more important in these Corona-stricken times.” says Hartwig Gunzer (CTO)
